How can italk help me?

italk provides free treatment to people suffering from a range of common mental health problems.

How can I get help?

italk currently accepts referrals directly from you (self referrals) or via your GP. You are now able to self-refer to italk, this means you can contact us directly, without visiting your GP.

Refer online for groups or computerised support

Call 02380 383920 to book an assessment

Online referral to groups or computerised support is the quickest and most convenient way for you to access the service is either through a Managing Moods group or via our computerised support programme (SilverCloud) as there is no need for an initial assessment. You can refer quickly and easily online. We will then send a letter allocating you to a group near you, or email you with details of an online support practitioner for SilverCloud. Both of these options are suitable for people with mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety, stress or depression.

If you think you may need more support, you can call us on 02380 383920 to arrange an initial assessment with one of our practitioners. This will usually be over the telephone and at a time to suit you. We can offer face to face appointments in certain circustances, for example if you are hard of hearing or have a telephone phobia.

GP referrals

You may prefer to go to your GP to discuss your problems first. Once you and your GP agree italk is the best option for you, your GP will send us a referral, but you will also need to contact us. We call this 'opt in’, which is the first step in your involvement with italk.

Who do we help?

italk helps people with common mental health problems including depression and anxiety. The service is open to anyone aged 16 and over who is registered with a GP in the localities of Andover, Basingstoke, Bordon, Eastleigh, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, New Forest, Petersfield, Romsey, and Winchester.

Please note italk is unable to offer a service to people currently seeing other mental health services and counsellors.

If you would like any more information or still feel unsure about whether we are the service for you, please contact us on info@italk.org.uk

A testimonial by 'Kevin'

I am just contacting you as I have just completed my six sessions of italk and I would like to say a massive thank you for your kind help during one of the most difficult times of my life. I can tell you with you 100% belief that without your support and kindness getting on the road to recovery and feeling better would have taken a lot, lot longer.
