How can italk help me?

italk provides free treatment to people suffering from a range of common mental health problems.

I can't sleep

Can’t sleep? You are not alone. Many people suffer from insomnia; trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or both. As a result, they may get too little sleep or have poor quality sleep which means that they do not feel refreshed when they wake up.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia.

Insomnia can be triggered by situations such as; stress at work, family pressures, noisy neighbours, illness, a traumatic event etc. We aim to teach people skills to manage their sleeping difficulties  in one to one sessions with an italk practitioner.

Is the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia (CBTi) programme suitable for me?

If you can answer yes to all of the questions below, then CBTi may be helpful for you:

  • Is insomnia (lack of sleep, poor quality sleep, or problems getting to sleep) your main problem, rather than significant levels of anxiety or depression?
  • Are you motivated to make significant changes to improve your sleep?
  • Where applicable, are you prepared to stop taking sleeping medication (with support and advice from your GP)?

If you suffer from other sleeping problems such as Narcolepsy, please contact your GP for more advice as this program will not be able to help you.
