Managing Moods

Managing Moods is our free course teaching skills you can use day-to-day to feel more positive, calm and able to cope with life's challenges.

Our guided self-help approach means the sessions are presentation-based, aiming to equip you with the skills to move forward and feel like yourself again.

Join us for our 6-week webinar course. Each session is 1 hour long, and we provide resources to help you put what you're learning into practice between each weekly session

What we cover

  • We'll look at symptoms like frustration, panic and anxiety. You'll learn where they come from and how to break their 'vicious cycle' to feel more relaxed and resilient.
  • We explore the links between our thoughts and feelings. You'll learn to recognise your different styles and patterns of thinking, and how to challenge the ones that aren't helpful.
  • We teach techniques for getting your motivation back. You'll consider the barriers you may face, and how to plan ahead to overcome them.
  • We reflect on how we think about the past or future. You'll learn problem-solving skills and ways to manage worries. We end the course by sharing ways to maintain the positive changes you've made on this course.

This 6 session course is over zoom. There is a Q&A feature where you can type your questions to the facilitators.

Building Resilience with Long-Term Health Conditions

Building Resilience is our free 6-week course teaching a full toolkit of skills for building your resilience when you’re living with a long-term physical health condition.

It’s held as a webinar, which is like watching a live video, with the option to type in questions for our facilitators. It means you don’t need a camera or microphone, and we find people enjoy being able to learn alongside others from the comfort of home.

The course aims to help you find it easier to manage your physical health condition in the way that you want to, and enjoy life in the way you deserve to.

What we cover

  • How symptoms of anxiety can mimic our physical health conditions, how to spot the difference, and how to manage them.
  • How to understand and overcome barriers to achieving our wellbeing goals – such as, why do we sometimes make plans with the best intentions, and then find ourselves falling back into old habits? Whatever your plans are, we’ll look at how to make them easier to stick to.
  • How to figure out a sustainable level of activity for you, if you often find yourself needing to take time to rest and recover.
